A New Perspective on the Daimon Within: The Artist's Struggle

Chapter 1: The Artist's Journey
In this narrative, we delve into the life of a writer, a soul intertwining words and visuals, akin to an artist wielding his brush. While I observe from a distance, I have no obligations to this creative individual. He generates art out of necessity, while I remain merely a spectator.
As he navigates the ups and downs of his life, he dedicates time to teaching children grappling with depression, ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. He takes on various part-time roles within local councils and lives from paycheck to paycheck, with no plans for retirement. His sole passion lies in writing, and he pours his heart into it, fueled by the hope of recognition.
He indulges in coffee as he writes, driven by the thirst for fame. An ambitious dreamer, he submits his poetry to international competitions, only to be met with the profound silence of the night. Detached yet amused, I observe his struggles, aware that I could easily sever ties with him if I chose.
I hold no debts to him, nor do I feel bound to this earthly existence. The sky is my domain, and I thrive in my detachment. As he bears the weight of his ambitions, I remain light-hearted, viewing his distress like a half-hearted episode on Netflix.
There’s no obligation on my part to continue watching. I don’t require him as he requires me; I could extinguish the lights today without a second thought. Is this unfair? Do I sound uncaring?
You may argue that emptiness is a cruel existence, and you would be correct. I am a clinical observer, unbound by any individual’s narrative. You serve my purpose, not the other way around.
Thus, I pose a single question to you: How will you, an entangled and ambitious artist, reconcile with your detached, heartless daimon? Will you lament to the gods as poets and philosophers have done before you? Each of them rests beneath gravestones marked with dates of birth and death, yet not even that prevents birds from soaring overhead.
In exploring the concept of the daimon, I draw from Greek mythology, where daimons serve as spirit guides influencing personal fates. This notion resonates with the ideas presented by the Jungian analyst, James Hillman, in his work, Soul's Code.
However, I take a unique approach by merging the daimon with the Eastern philosophies of the Witness and Emptiness. In this framework, I envision a dialogue with a detached daimon, contemplating how such a figure might address me.
Engaging in this internal conversation can yield valuable insights into both the self and the broader themes of existence.
Here are two earlier poems that delve into similar reflections:

Chapter 2: Reflections on the Daemon
The second video, "Experience Real Estate Through a New Lens With Daimon Bushi & Dash Longe," offers a fresh perspective on viewing life through a different lens, paralleling the themes of detachment and insight that I discuss here.
