Revisiting My Running Journey: May 2024 Log

Chapter 1: Running Reflections
Let’s give this another shot.
On Wednesday, May 8, I ran a quarter mile and walked an additional half mile.
Notes: My right foot was bothering me, but surprisingly, my breathing was fine. Unlike previous treadmill sessions, where I struggled to catch my breath, this morning was different!
On Friday, May 10, I again ran a quarter mile and walked another half.
Notes: My shoes felt more comfortable this time, though I suspect they might actually be a bit too snug.
On Sunday, May 12, I followed the same routine of running a quarter mile and walking half.
Notes: My clothing was uncomfortable; my right shoe felt overly rigid, my socks seemed too thin, the band of my bra felt tight while the rest was too loose, and my shirt kept riding up.
On Tuesday, May 14, I repeated the quarter-mile run followed by a half-mile walk.
Notes: Just as I thought, “I hope this wraps up soon,” my running app notified me that I had completed a quarter mile.
On Thursday, May 16, I again ran a quarter mile and then walked.
Notes: It felt as though I was merely going through the motions; my pace resembled speed walking. Overall, it was a lackluster run, especially after a night of poor sleep.
On Saturday, May 18, I went for a quarter mile run and walked another half mile, then mowed the lawn, adding another half mile or more to my day.
Notes: The humidity made it challenging, and breathing felt more laborious than usual.
On Saturday, May 25, I ran a quarter mile and then walked half a mile.
Notes: I took my son along in a stroller (not meant for jogging), which strained my shoulders, but he found the bumpy ride amusing.
On Monday, May 27, I took my son in our new jogging stroller. Although it’s a bit shorter than our previous ones, the wheels handled better this time.
On Wednesday, May 29, I ran a quarter mile and walked another half.
Notes: Running solo felt easier without the stroller. I tried using a new armband for my phone, but it kept slipping down, making my arm feel bulky.
On Friday, May 31, I completed another quarter mile run and half-mile walk.
Notes: I felt particularly sluggish today, as if I was just dragging my feet along.

Chapter 2: Progress and Challenges
On May 31, I continued my routine with a quarter-mile run followed by a half-mile walk.
Notes: I felt quite slow today, as though I was just going through the motions.
