Chapter 2: My Journey in Writing

I embarked on my writing journey about 1.5 years ago, and it has proven to be the best decision of my life. Writing online has transformed my circumstances significantly.

There are two primary avenues through which I generate income from my writing. The first is my writing agency, and the second is my contributions on Medium. I plan to disclose my earnings from my writing agency shortly, but first, let’s examine my Medium income.

So far, I have earned $2,636 by publishing just 24 articles over the past 94 days.

I established my writing agency in December 2022 and currently generate about $27,000 each month.

For those unfamiliar with my writing agency, the concept is straightforward. I identify prominent newsletters on platforms like Substack and other directories, then reach out to them to offer my writing and marketing services.

I engage in Zoom meetings to negotiate terms, charging between $3,000 and $5,000 per month for my services. Subsequently, I hire freelancers—referred to as virtual contractors—to fulfill the client’s needs, compensating them 30% to 35% of the payment I receive.

This model allows me to retain 70% as profit. Essentially, I handle the invoicing each month, ensuring that freelancers are paid for their work.

This approach has proven to be one of the most effective online business models, especially for individuals with existing skills and knowledge in various fields. My expertise in marketing and writing has enabled me to attract clients successfully, although the process can be challenging due to frequent rejections.

Chapter 3: Digital Products and Their Impact

While I ceased selling products for a variety of reasons, I initially derived 70% of my monthly income from digital product sales.

Here’s a glimpse of my previous results from selling a writing course priced at $97:

In total, I earned nearly $79,000 over the last year after accounting for taxes and fees from selling my course.

The reason I stopped selling products is that I prefer not to market directly to my audience. Despite having built a trusting relationship with my followers and achieving substantial income, I now aim to provide valuable content for free.
