I recently had a lightbulb moment regarding Medium that left me feeling a bit foolish. After spending three months on the platform, I thought I had a solid grasp on its features, but I was clearly mistaken.
A story by Kristina God opened my eyes to the world of Medium Badges (be sure to check out her article below). Until then, I had no idea these badges even existed, and I was thrilled to learn about them.
I had been receiving occasional emails, such as the one depicted below:

Initially, I assumed these emails were just updates on my articles' performance, not realizing they were actually notifications about badges! I thought they merely indicated that certain stories were performing better than others.
It wasn’t until I came across Kristina’s insightful piece that I understood the true significance of these badges. She describes them as milestones for our achievements on Medium. You receive these notifications when your stories achieve milestones of 10, 50, or even 100 views. So far, I have yet to earn a badge for reaching the 100 views mark.
Now, I recommend keeping an eye out for your own badges! If you receive an email notification, it’s something to celebrate. I've even created a folder to organize these emails, with the goal of analyzing the data to identify any patterns in my stories' performance.
